A Testimony

From a Distant Education Student

 

The Self-Paced studies through GHCM have been an enormous blessing to me in the pursuit of my counseling certification. Being a full-time seminarian and intern at my local church, I must be a steward of my time and this program has allowed me to go at my pace.

 

What I appreciate is being able to receive one-on-one mentoring from the GHCM staff on my assignments. Their feedback is always penetrating and discerning and I find that more often than not, I am not receiving training or receipt of services but shepherding and discipleship. Aside from the reading, the assignments, the one-on-one discipleship, I have also been blessed by the availability of my Counseling Supervisor on the GHCM staff. Grace Harbor is expedient and thorough with their response time. To me this is a valuable asset, especially to a distance education program.

 

Another area where I have been blessed by the Self Paced studies is the quality of the feedback on my assignments. My Supervisor has personally read my lessons, personally comments on them, and has encouraged me to delve deeper in areas that may need further study. His wisdom and guidance especially in the areas of application have been invaluable to me with my internship (at my local church) and within the confines of personal discipleship to others. This personalization of my training has grown into a relationship, and in my opinion has increased the level of effectiveness with the training.

 

If you are considering certification training I highly recommend GHCM (and I regularly do). Thank you Grace Harbor staff for investing in me.
