Philosophy of Ministry

 

Living in a broken world, we realize people can find themselves in crisis and/or in deep periods of despair or situational difficulties. We recognize that these periods of time require in-depth analysis and teaching that are used in conjunction with the other ministries of the local church. Christian counseling is not an event but a process. We also believe that effective counseling is not isolated in its function, but a component of the overall discipleship ministry of the church.

 

We desire to use the gifts of Christian counseling and counselor training as a support ministry for local churches in order to fulfill Paul’s statements in Colossians 1:28 and Philippians 1:27. We believe that Christian counseling is an intensive form of discipleship, and is therefore a component of Christian growth and maturity. We also believe all Christians have degrees of giftedness wherewith they can perform Christian counseling. Since not all churches are equipped or developed in more intensive forms of soul care, our ministry functions as a counseling support arm of the local church. We come alongside the counselee or the counseling Christian in an effort to assist the local church and develop degrees of giftedness within the community of Christ.
